Description

This essential edition presents Fats sixth long play, Fats Domino Swings. Long unavailable on vinyl, it was originally released on the Imperial label in 1959. Like most of Fats Dominos early albums, this one was assembled from a variety of sessions taped between 1949 and 1958. Subtitled 12,000,000 Records (referring to the large number of sales of his records, at the time), the LP contains a collection of superb numbers, such as The Fat Man, Im Walkin, Bo Weevil, Whole Lotta Loving, as well as the smash hits Blueberry Hill and Aint It a Shame, to name just a few. All of these great recordings feature a virtual whos who of fabulous musicians from the Crescent City scene, including Dave Bartholomew, Lee Allen, Buddy Hagans, Ernest McLean, and Earl Palmer, among others. In addition to the original album, this collectors LP also includes 2 bonus tracks from the same period: the staple When I See You, and the rollicking Where Did You Stay. Fats music is just as enjoyable today as when it was first recorded. Its happy simplicity and its indomitable beat never get old.
